Creating the Future of Autonomous Car Interface

inspired by Polestar.

The state of UI design in most vehicles today is widely criticized for being unintuitive, outdated, and aesthetically unappealing.

The goal of this project is to develop a comprehensive car UI with speculative design that is easy to navigate, futuristic, and safe. Research on existing smart vehicle interface and self-conducted survey have been collected to get the most relevant driving experience and perspective towards self-driving cars.

Why Polestar

For this project, Polestar 2 has been chosen, as it appears to focus on innovation, uncompromised design, and technology. Interface design can be adopted by Polestar 2 that will be widely used by general public presumably by 2021.

Competitors Analysis

To understand what big competitors like Audi and Tesla have been doing, users test session is conducted to find out what features and problems that have been out there. This method will give a broader understanding of existing solutions and new potentials way to improve

Research & Discovery

A survey is conducted to get the most relevant and recent data experience from electric car drivers and non-electric drivers. The summary of this survey from 47 respondents will develop the user persona for this car interface.
